Nawazir has nearly 28 years working for PERTAMINA group, his last journey with the company was a President/Managing Director of PETRAL, the trading arm of PERTAMINA based in Singapore. PETRAL engage in trading activities (buying and selling) of crude and refined product include LPG, LNG, and petrochemicals.

He joined PERTAMINA in 1985 with background knowledge in Accounting and Finance. Most of his career in PERTAMINA serving for accounting and finance aspects of the company which consist of upstream (exploration and production) and downstream activities (refining, shipping and marketing) in several area of unit operation, headquarter and overseas.

He was the CFO of PT Tugu Pratama Indonesia (General Insurance), subsidiary of PT PERTAMINA and the Vice President of Finance Downstream, PT PERTAMINA (PERSERO). He was engaged and involved in the transformation process of PERTAMINA and play significant role in changing of Fuel subsidiary system in Indonesia which was very fundamental for the company in relation to new rule UU No. 22 tahun 2001 and its new role as a corporation. He also has intensive working with several government institution as well as the Indonesian parliament on several projects. Through his assignment in PERTAMINA had built competencies and capabilities in oil industry especially in finance and trading as well as relationship with communities in the industry.
